The Imperial Fists, the sons of Dorn, hold a very special place in my heart as they were the army that got me into this hobby, so very long ago.
While I don't have an army of them myself (I prefer the Ultramarines) I know many people who do. I had got together with one of them for a gaming session one evening and after we started discussing what the 'Legion' Codexes would be like if we ever got them e.g. Emperor's Children, Death Guard or Alpha Legion. We then got onto the non-traitor legions and how they are represented in the current 'Vanilla' codex. We felt that the Imperial fists (Though they have a character in the book) could use their own Codex. This was by no means biased... at all... So by this stage it was four in the morning and we were playing round with ideas for the 'dex. Some of them included:
The 'Thuderback'- A razorback with a thunderfire cannon on top.
10-man minimum Tactical Squads and Sarge with Power Sword as standard*
Tactical Squads take a second special weapon or heavy weapon.
A Land Raider Variant very similar to the Achillies (we'll probably just use that instead)
The option to take Terminators as troops (Lysander- specific special rule)
Get rules for Vladimir Puh- The Chapter Master
Those are all I can currently remember as we may have been under the influence.
So this holiday season, if you've had any ideas about Imperial Fists as an army, throw them down here, we're taking them all!Labels: Imperial Fists, Painting and Modelling, Warhammer 40K
